Second Saturday Art Walk

On the second Saturday of each month, galleries in Sacramento stay open for a Sacramento Art Walk late into the evening, allowing people to walk from gallery to gallery, viewing, experiencing and discovering local art galleries and meeting artists.

Friday Night Concerts in the Park

This free outdoor concert series, which runs May - August, is the hottest summer spot for Friday nights downtown. The shows feature local artists, representing several music genres including rock, pop, blues and folk. Music addicts and happy hour junkies fill up Cesar Chavez Plaza at 10th and J streets to enjoy live music, fresh air, good food, and the famous beer garden. Admission is FREE to this all ages show!

Trips to Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Marin County and Northern Mexico are the impetus for Marguerite Schaffron's new photography and painting in an exhibit called "Outlook". There will be Saturday evening receptions from 6 to 9 pm for this show on July 12th and August 9th. Regular gallery hours will be 1 to 5 pm on Saturdays and Sundays or by appointment.

Sacramento French Film Festival

The Sacramento French Film Festival is an annual event held in July. It celebrates the present as well as the rich history of French cinema featuring new releases and rarely seen classics. It is the only festival dedicated to French cinema in Northern California and one of only two on the West coast. The Sacramento Bee described the Festival as “the Cinematic Highlight of Sacramento's Summer”.
