Mike Testa

Mike Testa has an extensive background in Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Media Relations, Consumer Marketing, Special Events and Public Affairs.
Starting as a Treasury Assistant for PGT (a subsidiary of PG&E) in San Francisco, Testa was responsible for conducting credit evaluations of corporate customers. He was later promoted to Corporate Communications Sr. Writer and facilitated the company’s San Francisco Media Relations department.
Following PG&E, Testa accepted a position with Townsend Raimundo Besler & Usher in Sacramento where he was named Deputy Campaign Manager for a $2 billion statewide bond measure. The Measure was approved by more than 60% of voters. Following the campaign, Testa was named Director of Sales and Marketing for the corporation.
Most recently, Testa was with the Downtown Sacramento Partnership, where he first worked as Director of Special Events and was later promoted to Director of Public Relations & Marketing. With the DSP, Testa oversaw the Downtown Image and Marketing Campaign, the Thursday Night Market, the Friday Night Concert Series, and the Downtown Ice Rink.
Currently, Testa acts as the Vice President of Communications & Public Affairs for the Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau (SCVB). Hired as the Director of Public Relations, he was promoted to Director of Consumer Marketing and later to Director of Community Relations.
In his current capacity, Testa oversees the SCVB’s Travel Media, Community Relations and Partner Marketing departments, as well as the Sacramento Film Commission. Testa also manages the SCVB’s local marketing and advertising campaigns, local media and stakeholder relations and a variety of cooperative marketing and special event programs.
Also a freelance writer, Testa has been published in such publications as the Sacramento News & Review, the San Diego Union Tribune, Ladies’ Home Journal and Better Homes & Gardens.
